There are 108 names which describe the behavior, characters and qualities of Lord Ganesha. By illustrating his good qualities, we can praise Ganesha. This is one of the best Secret of Success in obtaining Ganesh Blessings.
 How to do this pooja?  I will post step by step process of 108 pooja. Therefore anyone who stays with my blog posts continuously can be the best of knowing GANESH POOJA OF SUCCESS. 

There are mainly two methods of doing this 108 pooja.

1- Bhavana Prashansa ( Praise Ganesha such as a Meditation)
2- Manthra Prashansa ( Praise Ganesha such as chanting Manthras)

Steps to Worship Lord Ganesha - (11 Steps)

According to a special request of one of my facebook fan of my page www.facebook.com/sriganeshaa I am going to present how to worship Ganesha in easy 11 steps in correct way. This is for a beginner and after practicing worship we can do more and more poojas like 108 pooja and Chant Special Mantras.

Steps

• 1 - Buy a photograph or an idol of Lord Ganesha from any nearby religious store.
• 2- Arrange for Ladoos, some hibiscus flowers, garlands ,incense sticks, oil lamps , incense sticks.
• 3-  Before worship you have to fresh up yourself with having a bath. (Especially ladies should never worship God during period days)
  4-Begin your Puja by lighting the lamp, incense sticks, flowers.
• 5-First of all chant Mool Manthra    3 times.
  6-Then you can sing any other Manthra, sloka , Bhajan or any devotional songs for Ganesh
  ( you can find powerful Mantras  in MANTRA Tab here)
• 7- Now offer the Garland
• 8- Offer Tasty sweets for Lord Ganesh which you have made especially for god. (Lord Ganesha's most favourite food are sweets like Ladoo, Modak, Milk rice with Jaggery,etc)
  9- Now very important to memorize your good deeds and give merits to Lord Ganesha because it will make most happier Ganesh ever more than other offerings.
  10- Next if you offer Red Thilak powder, you can first keep Thilak for Ganesh and then for you. (This is not essential)
• 11- You can remove the Ganesh Pooja after 15-20 minutes and can eat with devotion. It is better if you can give it to birds and animals too.

Ganesha's Faourite Food Recipes - Modak

Modak

Modak is a famous Indian sweet, prepared especially on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. It is known as Lord Ganesha's favorite sweet. Thus, majority of the people consider it a must to make Modak on the very first day of Ganesh Chaturthi. The celebrations are regarded incomplete without Modak, a sweet that is greatly associated to Ganesh Chaturthi. It is a special dish that is offered to the Lord, on his birthday. So, enjoy the festive season by preparing the delicacy. Given below is the recipe of Modak, detailing the required ingredients as well as the method of preparation.

Modak Recipe

Ingredients

•     3 cups Rice Flour
•     6 cups Water
•     6 tsp Oil
•     4 cups Grated Coconut
•     2 cups Sugar or Powdered Jaggery
•     A little Milk

Method

•     Bring the water to a boil and add oil into it for the outer covering. Take off heat.
•     Now add the rice flour, little by little to avoid lumps and cover the mixture and let it cool.
•     When cool, knead it well into dough with a smooth finish in such a way that it should sparkle.
•     Now take the coconut and Jaggery / sugar in a heavy-bottomed pan for the stuffing. Add milk.
•  Keep on low flame with stirring. Stir and take off heat.
•     The mixture should be fairly dry and turn a shade darker. Now make balls with the (covering) dough.
•     Flatten them on the palm or on a surface into a circle. Place the stuffing in it and cover it completely with the dough.
•     Fold the edges tapering to the centre. Now steam-cook the modaks in a cooker for 15 minutes until done.

Ingredients

• 1 cup rice flour (chawal ka atta)
• 1 cup water
• 1 tsp oil
• oil for greasing
• a pinch of salt
• For the filling
• 1 cup grated jaggery (gur)
• 1 cup grated fresh coconut
• 1/2 tsp cardamom (elaichi) powder
• 1 1/2 tbsp ghee

Method

•     For the filling, in a non-stick pan, add grated coconut and jaggery and cook over a slow flame till the jaggery melts and the mixture comes together. Add the cardamom powder and mix well.
•     In another non-stick pan boil the water. Add 1 teaspoon oil and a little salt in the boiling water and stir. Reduce the flame, add the rice flour while stirring continuously.
•     Whisk well so that no lumps remain. Cover with a lid and keep aside for about 5 minutes.
•     Grease your palms with a little oil and knead the dough while it is still warm; if the dough cools it will get lumpy, if it is not kneaded. You could even use a hand blender to knead the dough.
•     Make even size small balls of the dough (2 inch in diameter) using oil. Then roll each of them into a round shape, 3½" in diameter.
•     Make 8 to 10 folds in rolled dough with 1 cm. distance in between. To make a fold pinch the outer line of rolled dough a little bit ahead making 1-2 mm thick fold.
•     Add a spoonful of the filling into the dough.
•     Bring all the ends together and press to seal. Prepare a steamer by adding water, a teaspoon of oil and heat it till the water comes to a boil. While the water is simmering, place the modaks on a greased steamer plate and steam for 6 to7 minutes.
•     Once the modaks are cooked they will turn translucent. Serve hot drizzled with pure ghee.

Ganesha's Favourite Flowers - Conch Flower (white)

In Malayalam, it is called Sankhu-pushpam, as the flower resembles 'sankhu', meaning conch. The plant is native to Asia. It is a creeper and usually grows on other host plants. The plant has many medicinal values and is used for preparing ayurvedic medicines. Also, it is considered as a sacred flower and is used for offerings and for poojas. This is one of the most favourite flower of Lord Ganesha.

Ganesha's Favourite Flowers - Hibiscus

You can offer any flower to Lord Ganesha but Hibiscus is one of the  most favourite of him. Most probably red flowers are fond. You can plant a hibiscus tree in your home garden easily and it will make Lord Ganesha happier than earlier because you are offer your own flowers which was planted because of Ganesha. You did that because of the devotion so it will be more fruitful.

Write "OM" Everywhere

On your special occasions such as in educational,official or in any document related tasks, remember to write "OM" first. When you do this remind Lord Ganesha.

 If you feel like it is not suitable to write "OM" in your document, write it in another piece of paper. For an instance, you are instructed to submit an assignment (written) , then it is not suitable to write any other letters on assignment. Therefore you can write OM in another paper before you are going to start to write the assignment.

• Devas (God) are the ones who has done huge amount of meritorious deeds then had the their next birth in heaven. Ganapati is also like that and Ganesh Deva is one of the most powerful god in heaven. If you chant this powerful mantra while touching and worshiping Ganesha's feet, he will be more and more lovable to you. Every god like to be worshiped with foot touching and we get more and more blessings from them. They will be satisfied about us when we are doing this. Devas are the ones who had lot of merits. So that we should respect them a lot.
• When we are worshiping, if we can chant mantras that will be a more effective and successful worshiping. For that, there is a feet worship mantra. This Mantra is somewhat popular but the correct and accurate method of worshiping cannot be found in anywhere else. I am going to explain the correct method of worshiping for the first time.

Method

1. First you have to worship.
2. Then touch Ganesha's feet from your both hands.
3. Now, While worshiping (Both hands together) chant this Indian mantra.
4. Again touch feet of Ganesha.
5. Finally worship again.

But you do not need to chant the meaning of this mantra which I have mentioned in "Mantra" tab of my blog. I posted the meaning of this mantra to give a better understanding about what you are going to say. If you chant this mantra without knowing the meaning it will be an empty word chanting. Therefore keep in your mind, Ganpati does not like to hear empty words. So you have to understand the meaning from the bottom of your heart and tell it. Otherwise no use of chanting it like singing birds.

When to Chant

• There is not any specific time to chant this mantra. You can chant this anytime. In the morning, evening or at night or at anytime, when you worship Ganesh, when you chanting other Mantras, you can chant this too.
• When you feel love on Ganesh, when walk close to the Ganesh statue at home, before you engage in an important task or business, before travel somewhere, you can chant this foot worship mantra.
• Before chant this mantra it is better to chant the Mool Mantra first. Then you will receive more attention from Ganesh Deva. Mool Mantra can be found in my blog - Maha Ganpati Mool Mantra.

How to Chant

• Before you are going to chant this mantra you have to be friendly with Ganesh. Otherwise, do not chant this suddenly without any devotion of Ganesh. If you are new to worship Ganesh, do not try out this mantra. First of all you should buy a Ganesh statue (The correct Ganesh statue) and follow all the other methods of worship Ganesha with a great devotion. My blog includes all these secret methods which can be used to be friendly and get the blessings of Lord Ganesh. (Ganesh Secrets of Success). After all these done, you can take the advantage from this mantra of all success. • Ganesh have a special ability to avoid obstructions. That is why Ganapati can be introduced as the God of avoiding hurdles or obstacles (Vignaraja). Today the society is very competitive and when we are going to start something we have to face a number of troubles, obstructions and drawbacks. Accordingly we have to stop the task that we started and be disappointed. If we have got the blesssings of Ganesh all those obstacles will vanish and we can find the way of success. Therefore we will be able to reach our goals. For that you only have to do one thing. That is, you should say the above Mantra 3 times before starting an important business or task.

• Keep the book which is difficult to study near Ganesh statue. If you have a little child, tell him or her to do this. Then light a incense stick and keep red flowers if you can. Then worship Ganesh and tell " These books are hard. But the facts in this book will be tested in the exam. Please Lord Ganesh make me understand, remember and study this book well. After that take the book and study. You will understand the power of Ganesh.
