In Malayalam, it is called Sankhu-pushpam, as the flower resembles 'sankhu', meaning conch. The plant is native to Asia. It is a
creeper and usually grows on other host plants. The plant has many
medicinal values and is used for preparing ayurvedic medicines. Also, it
is considered as a sacred flower and is used for offerings and for
poojas. This is one of the most favourite flower of Lord Ganesha.
